RUSNANO’s Science and Technical Council approve Polycomplex’s project plan

Soybean oil production is an integral part of the soybean transfer and processing complex, which is part of the Polycomplex food processing and logistics cluster in Ust-Luga in the Leningrad Region.

The utilization of new 3-15 nm palladium particle catalysts in the soybean oil production process allows the nickel catalysts that many companies currently use to be replaced. The oil hydrogenation process creates the final product, hydrogenated fat. This product is produced through the use of palladium catalysts, which are noted for their low amount of harmful trans-isomer fatty acids and absence of toxic nickel.

Palladium nanocatalyst technology was developed by scientists at the Boreskov Institute of Catalysis SB RAS in Novosibirsk at Polycomplex’s request.
